Anne Arundel Genealogical Society

Established in 1974, this year marks our 44th year of helping the people of Anne Arundel County and Maryland learn more about their ancestors and heritage. Our extensive collection of genealogical reference material has been housed at the Kuethe Library in Glen Burnie, Maryland since 1992, and is open to the public for a small fee (free to members).

Brevard Genealogical Society, Inc

The primary purpose of the Brevard Genealogical Society is education of our membership and the public through training courses, workshops, and seminars on methods and standards of genealogical and historical research. We try to stimulate interest in, and encourage the recording of family history, especially among young people. We encourage the collection of genealogical and historical books and other materials by the Society, through donation and purchase, so they may be properly cataloged, cared for, and made available for all to use.

Central Florida Genealogical Society

The Central Florida Genealogical Society, Inc. was formed in 1969 in Orlando with thirty-two Charter members. Until 1993, we were known as the Central Florida Genealogical & Historical Society. The definition of Central Florida varies; however, it includes the following counties: Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter, and Volusia Counties.

Federation of Genealogy Societies

The Federation of Genealogical Societies links the genealogical community by: (1) serving the needs of its member societies, libraries, archives, and other member organizations, (2) providing products and services needed by member societies, and (3) marshaling the resources of its member organizations. FGS was founded in 1976 and represents the members of hundreds of genealogical societies.

Florida Genealogical Society (Tampa)

The mission of Florida Genealogical Society is to foster and encourage the research, publication and preservation of family histories, genealogical records and historical materials for future generations. The Florida Genealogical Society (Tampa) continues to assist its members and the residents of the Tampa Bay area in modern and traditional methods of research, to provide educational activities related to genealogy and family history, to promote interest and study in ancestral history, geography, and social customs. Founded on 28 Jan 1958, the Florida Genealogical Society (Tampa) is the oldest genealogical society in the state of Florida.

Genealogical Society of Palm Beach County

The Genealogical Society of Palm Beach County was organized on May 6, 1964 by a group of people interested in tracing their ancestors. Monthly meetings were held in various locations, genealogical procedures were taught, and books and other materials were shared by members. The Society incorporated in 1966 as Palm Beach County Genealogical Society.

Indian River Genealogical Society

The Indian River Genealogical Society, Inc. had its beginnings when the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century met and discussed forming a genealogy society to help their members and increase membership. On 6 April 1983, the first meeting and founding members met—Louise Auten, George Wilson, Freda Hoppe, Carolyn Scagnetti, Ruth McConathy, Edward Hungerford, Martha Dodd, Burton Holt and Mabel Lutz. The original meeting place was the social hall of the Roseland United Methodist Church. Since 1991 when the new library was built, the Society has met in the large meeting room at the Indian River County Main Library.
